Az ős Casual Heroes-t még Norba és Gery alakította egy nyári estén, elmélkedések közepette 2003-ban.
Tervszerint egy vidám, bolondos punk zenét játszó csapat lett volna 3 taggal. A kezdeti felállás ekkor ez volt: Norba - basszusgitár, Gery - dob és egy jóbarát Peto Gábor - gitár. Ez a felállás körülbelül 3 hétig élt. Elméletben
Kezdődtek a gondok, a tagok keresése. A gitáros poszt meglehetősen hosszú ideig üresen tátongott, majd rengeteg tag kipróbálása után érkezett a csapatba Krisztián, aki azóta is a szólógitáros posztot tölti be. Aztán ahogy telt az idő, úgy nőtt az igény arra, hogy ne csak a saját magunk örömére játszunk, hanem egy minőségibb zenével a közönség elé léphessünk. Ebben az időben lett Pali is beszervezve a bandába, mint ritmusgitáros, és így alakult ki az akkori quartett, ami így nézett ki: Norba -basszusgitár, Krisztián - gitár, Pali - gitár, Gery -dob. A Mezőkövesd környező települései mellett, a zenekar több ízben fellépett Budapesten (Vörös Lyuk, Rocktogon), és Sopronba is eljutott (Hangar Music Garden).
A 2006 év több szempontból is mérföldkőnek számít a zenekar életében. Az első hónapokban jókora nézeteltérés uralkodott a zenekarban, aminek eredményeképpen Gery hosszas időzés után kivált a Casual Heroes kötelékéből, majd egyéb elfoglaltságai miatt Pali is abbahagyta a gitározást. Norba és Krisztián a helyzetet átbeszélték, és mivel egyikük sem akarta, hogy abba maradjon a zenélés, és közös megegyezés alapján jegelve lettek a zenekari teendők.
Közben, hogy mégis menjen a szekér, a már meglévő dob alapokra –amit még Gery dobolt fel-, a srácok felgitározták, és felénekelték a dalokat. Így lett kész az első demónk. A zenekar viszont még messze nem volt koncertképes állapotban, hiszen az ideális felállásnak csak a 2/5-e volt meg. Több hónapnyi kényszerszünet –és egy átmulatott hegyaljai éjszaka- után, Krisztián megkérdezte barátját, és évfolyamtársát, Lacit, nem lenne kedve dobolni a CH-ban. Aztán nyári felkérést követte egy hivatalos szeptemberi is, ahol végül is Laci rábólintott a dologra. Ekkortájt tette át a banda a székhelyét Mezőkövesdről Miskolcra.
Sössie nem kis dolgot vállalt magára, minthogy fél évnyi gyakorlattal a háta mögött kellett magát koncertképes állapotba hoznia. Kezdetben voltak olyan időszakok, amikor X-el minden hétköznap napi 3-4 órát próbáltak.
A Mikulás decemberben szép nagy ajándékot hozott nekünk Roli képében, aki szintén ki volt éhezve már a közös zenélésre, és ő is éppen keresett egy bagázst magának, ahol nyúzhatja a húrokat. Közös baráti társaság (R.T.T.G.) révén ismerkedtünk meg vele, és mindkét fél igényeinek elmondása után hamar el is kezdődött a közös munka. Üröm az örömben, hogy éppen elkezdődött a vizsgaidőszak, így nem tudunk úgy haladni, ahogy szerettünk volna.
A 2007 év nem éppen az intenzív próbákkal kezdődött, de mentségünkre legyen mondva, tanultunk, mint a kisangyal :P
Miután mindenki le lett tudta azt, amit le kellett, a zenekar egy igen kockázatos vállalkozásra szánta el magát: debütálni az új, 5(!) tagú felállással március 16-án! A helyzet érdekességét az adta, hogy ekkortájt még nem volt énekesünk, ha-ha! Ment a fórumokon, és az egyetemen a hirdetés, de csaknem akart senki se jelentkezni. Voltak emberek, akiket mi kértünk fel, és voltak akiket ki is próbáltunk, de vagy visszautasították az ajánlatot, vagy nem váltak be. Mígnem körülbelül 3 héttel a fellépés előtt, az utolsó pillanatban –amikor már leakartuk mondani a fellépést-, végső elkeseredésében Laci véletlenségből megkérdezte az egyik ismerősét, nem ismer-e egy embert, aki hajlana az ilyesmire. A válasz önmagáért beszél: „Hát, a barátomnak elég jó hangja van.”
Így jutottunk el Attilához, és 1-2 egyeztetés után a kis bunkerünkben kötött ki, ahol elindult a 3 hetes hangszálnyúzó, húrtépő, bőrszaggató gürcölés, hogy ne égjünk le, mint a Reistag, ha-ha!
A zenekar eddigi mérlege 5 -saját- kész dal, 3 feldogozás, és folyamatosan készülnek az újabb nóták. Letudtunk 2 sikeres fellépést, egyiket a Bridge To Solace előzenekaraként, és a jövőt tekintve olyan koncertek vannak lefixálva, mint fellépés a BPRNR-es Embers-el, és a brazil Confronto-val. Nyár elején készül majd az új demó, és ha úgy van, akkor ősz elején kijön az első Casual Heroes EP…
A zenekar jelenlegi stílusát tekintve hardcore/metal zenét játszik, ahol egyformán merít az old school és new school hardcore-ból egyaránt, vegyítve számos metál elemmel. Olyan hatások lelhetők fel zenénkben, mint a Hatebreed, a Throwdown, Darkest Hour és még sok más külföldi, illetve hazai banda.

The original Casual Heroes founded by bassist Norba and former drummer Gery during reflections on a summer night in 2003.
The plan was to play a happy, jokeful, punk music with 3 members in it. In the beginning, line-up was the following: Norba – bass, Gery – drums, and a good friend Gábor Peto – guitar. This line-up’s last for 3 weeks. As a concept
Problems and looking for the new members had started. The guitar post has gapped for a fairly long time, but after many try outs came Krisztián, and since then he is reponsible for the solos. As time passed, we wanted more than
just playing for ourselves, we wanted to get up stage and play in front of the audience a well qualified music. In this period Pali join the band as a rhythmguitarist, so the band grew to a quartet, which was looked like this: Norba – bass, Krisztián – sologuitar, Pali – rhythmguitar, Gery – drums. Over the small towns of Mezőkövesd, the band appeared several times at Budapest’s party places, like The Red Hole and Rocktogon, but the band also got up on stage at Sopron’s Hangar Music Garden.
The year 2006 a huge milestone for the band in many aspects. In the first couple of months a big argument appeared in the band and as a result Gery left the Casual Heroes and for another reason so did Pali too. Norba and Krisztián discussed the situation, and none of them wanted to finish at this point, so they chilled the band activity by common agreement.
During this time, -to still keep going-, for the extant drum percussions -which one Gery played up earlier- the guys played up the guitars and vocals, so we could finish our first demo. The band was not barely in a „concert able” position, because only 2 members existed from the ideal 5 members. After few months of waiting – and after an all-night-long party at Hegyalja-, Krisztián asked his friend and classmate, Laci if he wanted to join the CH. In September the summer request was followed by an official request, which Laci (Sössie) accepted. That was the time, when the band’s HQ moved from Mezőkövesd to Miskolc.
Sössie took himself under a big pressure to get on the level of his bandmates: he had only 6 months drummer experience behind him. In the beginning it happened several times, that they practiced every weekdays 3-4 hours with X together.
Santa brought us a nice big present in December when Roli came along, who also had the hunger for playing music and he was looking for a band to play together with. We met him through a bunch of friends (R.T.T.G.) and after a bit of discuss the common work started. Unfortunately, that time the exam period started on the university, so we couldn’t practice as much as we wanted to.
The year 2007 started not really with an intensive rehearsaling, but we had our excuse: we studied like angels :P
After everyone had done, what he had to done, the band took a very highly risk: a debut with the new, 5(!) members line-up at 16th of march! The twist in this situation was that we still hadn’t got our vocalist, ha-ha! We advertised on the internet and in the campus, but nobody was interested in the vocalist post. There were guys, who we asked for and there were guys, who we tried out for this post, but they denied our request or they were not really suitable for this post. Then 3 weeks before the gig, in the last minute –when we already wanted to cancel the gig-, with a last desparate move Laci asked a friend of him, if she knew someone for vocal. The answer spokes to itself: „My boyfriend’s got a nice voice.”
That’s how we got to know Attila and after a few consultation, he landed in our little bunker and we started a 3 weeks of voiceskinning, stringripping, skinshradding plodding, and tried not to burn down, as the Reistag did, ha-ha!
The band’s scale at the moment are 5 –own- finished songs, 3 covers and the new songs are coming soon. We made 2 successful gigs: on one of them we were the previous band for Bridge To Solace (BPRNR), and in the future we have some fixed gigs, such as playing with the BPRNR’s Embers, and the brasilian Confronto.
We’re going to make a new demo at the beginning of the summer, and if all circumstances will be fine, the first Casual Heroes EP will come out in fall.
The band’s current style is hardcore/metal. We take as much old school hardcore, as new school hardcore in our music, mixing with various metal riffs and elements. The following bands had an effect on our music: Hatebreed, Throwdown, Darkest Hour and many more…
